Two Southeast Asian puppetry traditions at Te Papa: Thai (visiting puppeteer and musicians) and Javanese, (dhalang Ki Joko Susilo from Dunedin accompanied by Gamelan Padhang Moncar).
Southeast Asian Night Market
Gamelan Taniwha Jaya performed traditional Balinese music on stage with Balinese dancer Evie Suyadnyani performing Tari Rejang (a temple dance). GTJ also performed Sekar Ginotan by Lotring and Jauk Manis.
Wellington Film Premiere of “Rubbings from a Live Man”
Gamelan Padhang Moncar played before this Wellington premiere of Florian Habicht’s film about Warwick Broadhead, which featured recorded music from Gamelan Padhang Moncar.
Asia:NZ Foundation Patron’s Dinner
